We guarantee that you will learn to SLACK in 90 minutes, or your money back!!! The Slackline Series is a unique practice that teaches complete body awareness, helping you to redefine your sense of balance and mental focus. Slacklining is great for yogis, climbers, couch potatoes, and athletes of all kinds.
In this 90 min playshop you’ll learn the basics of the Slackasana series. This includes standing (commitment), kneeling (core strength), sitting (focus), arm balancing (breath), as well as exercises for more seasoned slackers to expand their comfort zone on the line. All skill levels encouraged to come. No experience necessary.
THE NEXT STEP IN SLACKLINE YOGA::Sunday 10a-12p, $25
There are over 80 Asana poses that we have adapted to be done on the slackline. Learning how to effectively move between the static poses will help you to grow and deepen your practice. This class will follow a loose structure focusing on arm balance technique, transitions and turns. This structure will allow us to flow with the overall skill level of the class ensuring everyone will be adequately challenged.
Pre-requisites: please be familiar with walking, kneeling, sit to stand, basic arm balance and surf stance.
ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR, Sam Salwei (Co-Founder of YogaSlackers):
A modern Day Nomad, Sam travels from coast to coast living his own unique lifestyle. Initially driven by his passion for Eco-Adventure, Sam began his life on the road in 2004, which quickly led to a diverse career that encompasses adventure-racing, rock climbing, acrobatics and slacklining. In 2005 Sam co-created the company “YogaSlackers”, which specializes in combining Yoga done on a Slackline with other practices that center on body awareness, partner acrobatics in particular. Despite the misleading name, the “slackers” are quite accomplished athletes who have gained the support of over 20 different commercial sponsors that share in the desire to promote ecologically sustainable living.
